The parasite-based disease Neospora caninum has been added to Cattle Health Certification Standards (CHeCS) following evidence of rising levels of infection in the UK and Ireland. It is the first new disease in 15 years to be added to CHeCS, the regulatory body for cattle health schemes in the UK and Ireland, and joins Johne’s Disease, BVD, IBR and Leptospirosis.
